Hypnotherapy
Session Frequent Questions Ask
What to expect during a hypnosis session?
Our session usually begins with a conversation. We discuss your goal or situation, the hypnosis process, and any questions you might have.
During hypnosis we help you let go of physical tension and get your mind into a state similar to pre- and post-sleep, daydreaming, or meditation. Hypnosis is most often a state of intensified physical relaxation and mental focus. You remain conscious throughout the session, interacting with the therapist during hypnosis by signaling or speaking. Hypnosis is not sleep, and you do not lose control or go into a frozen, cataleptic state. Many people experience some dissociation (i.e. “blanking out”) during hypnosis, but this does not hinder the process. In fact, it can enhance the effectiveness of hypnotic suggestions.
When hypnosis is concluded, it is normal to feel so relaxed that you don’t want to move. You can emerge from hypnosis slowly and gently, and you will be able to go about your day normally.
How many sessions do I need?
This depends largely on the person and the issue being addressed. A typical hypnosis process consists of an initial assessment/session and 2 or 3 follow-up sessions. A great number of people achieve their goal after the initial session. Some people keep a regular appointment for ongoing support, and others as needed.
First Consultation
This is an assessment appointment and it is usually conducted by phone. We offer the opportunity to ask questions without any obligation.
Session length
The initial session is scheduled for 2 hours. We almost always use hypnosis in the first session. Subsequent sessions are usually 1 hour to 90 minutes.

Cancellations, Punctuality And Fees
Much preparation occurs before the arrival of each client and, within a period of two working days, the session becomes non-transferable. When you make an appointment we reserve the whole session for you. We will need at least two working days notice (excluding Sundays and Bank Holidays) if you wish to cancel or reschedule an appointment otherwise you will be liable to pay the full session fee.

If you are unable to attend a session for any reason, it will usually not be possible for your hypnotherapist to make use of 'your time' by filling your session with a different client. Thus a missed session represents a lost opportunity for another client and a lot of wasted preparation for the hypnotherapist.

More than two late notice cancellations may prompt your therapist to consider withdrawing our service altogether, in order that your time-slot may be offered to someone else.
